The Safety Improvement Plan for Murray Hill Road has been developed and will now be implemented. Thank you to all the residents who participated in the development of this plan. Your ideas and opinions have been invaluable. The safety improvements will enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety near Murray Hill Road. The safety statistics will be reassessed periodically, and additional components will be added, if necessary. Implementation will begin quickly, as weather permits.
At Murray Hill and Washington:
The stop signs will be moved closer to the corners (to increase sight distance).
The stop signs will be enhanced with warnings that it is NOT a four way stop.
All four pedestrian crossings will be upgraded to high profile pedestrian crossings
Foliage will be trimmed to increase sight distance.
Police enforcement will continue, with rotating positions.
A sign has been added on Murray Hill Rd that warns drivers of their speed.
On Midvale:
"No parking" signs will be installed on the north side of the street
"No overnight parking" signs will be added to the south side of the street.
Additional measures also being considered:
Modifying the “no parking” hours on Murray Hill Road, to enhance safety
Adding a pedestrian crosswalk at Midvale.
Adding a streetlight at Midvale and/or Oxford.
