Construction will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27th, on Glenwood Road, near Main Street. In preparation for the replacement of the Main Street Bridge, overhead utilities and a gas main must be relocated.  The northbound lane of Glenwood Road, by Main Street, will be closed and there will be a detour in place through Ford and Raiford Roads. Glenwood Road southbound will remain open. This closure is expected to last a few days, but please be aware that closures will be necessary during this project. If you live in the area, please leave extra time for travel.     

The Main Street Bridge must be closed completely to replace the bridge.  The closure is expected to occur at the end of June,2026 (next month) and is expected to last for approximately six months. 

During the closure, a signed detour route will be in place to direct motorists around the project area, and a livery service will be available to transport pedestrians around the bridge closure.
